Portview invests in companies that are leveraging the far-reaching changes sweeping the communications sector in order to build valuable new enterprises. The fund targets primarily early stage companies with the potential to define and dominate a large, high growth, profitable market. These companies may be at the product development stage, in beta testing, or may already have achieved initial sales.

Portview invests in companies at all stages of the value chain, from components and enabling technologies through systems and applications. The Fund does not invest in carriers or in content. Portview focuses on six segments with potential for exceptionally high growth:
- Software:billing, customer care, network management and operations support, provisioning, performance monitoring
- Enhanced services:applications that generate incremental, high margin revenues and reduce churn. Includes video, location-based services, conferencing, virtual networks
- Network convergence: voice over packet networks, interworking solutions, systems that blur the boundary between mobile and fixed networks
- Wireless communications: fixed and mobile, voice and data, infrastructure and applications.
- Broadband access: technologies to broaden access pipes, as well as applications that leverage the increased availability of high bandwidth connections
- Optical networks: components and systems.
We are not interested in technology for technology's sake. We are interested in companies that leverage technology to solve significant real-world problems or create opportunities for major new markets to develop.
